We decided to try a remote hike that we thought "wouldn't be too difficult." Yeah, right.

We started at a wide spot in the road that goes to Laurel Lakes at about 9300 feet and ended up hiking to about 11250 - HOLY COW!
This view is from the north shore of Convict Lake. 'We were here!' - is the top of Laurel Mountain where we looked down on Convict Lake.

From there, we had to hike DOWN to the lake at 10000 feet. The worst part about that is when we left,
we had to go back up to 11250 first thing. We were both exhuasted when we got down to the lake,
but we agreed that the scenery and fishing was worth every aching step.
